Trust nobody. I am not responsible for accuracy, your safety, your behavior, mother nature, father time, the fact that life is dangerous and wonderful, nor can I make you a happy, safe, or prepared person.
Wanderfall is a free hobby project run by one person. Using it means you accept what is written here. If you do not, please do not use it.
Everything here was gathered from other people's websites and public data. Coordinates are wrong sometimes. Names are wrong sometimes. Trail distances, difficulty ratings and access notes are often out of date, and a waterfall that was easy to reach last year may not be this year. Nothing on this site has been checked by anyone in person unless it says so, and even then it was checked once, by one person, on one day.
Do not use Wanderfall as your only source for a trip. Carry a real map, tell somebody where you are going, and check current conditions with the agency that manages the land.
Waterfalls are dangerous. People are seriously injured and killed at them every year, including at waterfalls listed on this site. Rock is slippery, water is stronger and colder than it looks, and the top of a waterfall is the most dangerous place to stand.
You decide where to go and what to do when you get there. That decision is yours, along with its consequences. By using this site you accept the risks of outdoor activity and agree that I am not liable for any injury, death, loss or damage arising from anything you found here.
A waterfall appearing on this map is not permission to go there. Some of these are on private land, some are on land with rules about when and how you may visit, and some are closed. Ownership information here is incomplete and frequently wrong. Finding out whether you may legally be somewhere is your job, not mine.
If you create an account you can log visits, rate places and send corrections. Please send real information; do not send anything unlawful, abusive, or that you have no right to share. I may edit or remove anything submitted, and may close any account, for any reason.
By sending a correction or a rating you allow me to use it in this site. You keep whatever rights you had in it.
Wanderfall links to and draws on other sites, including NCWaterfalls.com, HikingWNC, OpenStreetMap and the USGS. Those sites are not mine, I do not control them, and I am not responsible for what they say or do. The challenge lists belong to the organisations that publish them; taking part officially is arranged with those organisations, not here.
What is collected and what happens to it is set out in the Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.
This site is provided as it is, with no warranty of any kind, express or implied, including any warranty of accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, or availability. It may be wrong, it may be down, and it may disappear. To the fullest extent the law allows, I am not liable for any damages arising from your use of it.
I may change these terms. The date below says when they last changed. Carrying on using the site means you accept the current version.

This is not intended to be persnickety. Neither of us has any idea what the future holds and I don't want to have to hire a lawyer after giving you a cool website.
